First Mercedes-Benz is offering a choice of three variants of the lightweight Vario-roof-construction for the new SLK: only a few seconds this feature turned into a convertible coupe with a roof "fixed" at the touch of a button - and vice versa: The standard version is a car painted roof.
Options available is a panorama glass roof with Vario-dark. The third option is a world debut - the picture with the vario-roof MAGIC SKY CONTROL. This glass roof light switches or a button in the dark. In the light that is virtually transparent, providing an outdoor experience, even in cold weather. In this state its dark roof provides welcome shade and prevent the interior from heating up from the sun's rays. Other words: a relaxed atmosphere at the touch of a button.
Mazda showed the lightweight concept car - Superlight, built on the MX-5 roadster. This car is designed with European design division of the company, based in Oberursel, Germany. Concept built to commemorate the 20 anniversary model MX-5/Miata. Premiere of new concept planned for the international auto show in Frankfurt. Mazda Superlight weight is only 995 kg. Mazda Superlight equipped with a standard four-turbocharged engine of 1.8 liter capacity 126 hp, maximum torque is equal to 166 Nm. Acceleration 0-100 km / h in 9.2 seconds with the concept. Roadster received 17-inch wheels with tires of dimension 205/45, Bilstein shock absorbers and springs Eibach.
The car was officially unveiled to the public on July 19, 2006, in Santa Monica, California, at a 350-person invitation-only event held in Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport.
The San Francisco International Auto Show, held on November 18–26, 2006, was the Tesla Roadster's first auto show. Tesla Roadsters have been featured in numerous subsequent auto shows, including international shows in Los Angeles, Detroit and Frankfurt.
